An Etheree of Season written for the Etheree contest by Ink Empress.

An Etheree is a type of poem which has ten lines. It goes in chronological order on the lines corresponding to the amount of syllables on it. It is a successive one to one system. So, the counts literally go up 1, 2, ,3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 for each time that one hits enter on the keyboard.

This type of poem can also go in reverse. Simply count down the numbers starting with ten. Or there can be something called a Double Etheree. This means that the lines will count upwards, and then at ten, ten is repeated and then it is counted down. So a Double Etheree is actually a 20 line poem.

Spring summons season of rebirth, where birds build nests for new-borns. Nature's palette spreads joy as bright colours flourish with buttercups, daffodils, bluebells, blooming with rows of vibrant tulips. Golden orb begins to spread its warm rays, virgin summer roses bloom like rubies. My inner child smiles at butterflies, fledglings expand their tiny wings. Mild rain hydrates perfumed buds. Rainbow dahlia garnish, under turquoise skies. Sweet pea prolongs around trees, screening stalks. I shiver at the loss of my blossoms crumbling in Autumn. Green turns yellow then brown, as clouds grieve and bleed charcoal. Auburn leaves decorate soaked paths. Flock of birds soar to pleasant pastures. Flashbacks from laid to rest souls resurface. Winter weaves frozen cobwebs as winds howl. Dark days, cold nights with nature naked, sun hides its glow as ground hardens. Snow kissed evergreen sepals, covered in pristine white, appear grand until, bitter raindrops, create ice upon them.

This is a poem that paints brilliant imagery of spring, and then the sadness of the cold and dreary changes that ensue into winter. I can even compare it to the life cycle, from passed spring of youth, autumn of the mid years of life ending, and into the cold winter where darkness settles and hides the sun when clouds descend on the eyesight! You have such an amazing pen Silent One, I'm so glad you're back and writing again! This poem is so well written.

To begin with, let me start by thanking you, you were the first to teach insta poetry community of etherees, and made it a trend and ever since, this is my fave form, secondly, WOW! I have not enough words to describe or express how i feel reading this seasonal etheree! You’ve done a quadruple and all your words flow in such eloquence, and the way you’ve painted imagery is beyond exquisite and so very captivating! Every line that blew me away! And how it transformed to autumn and turning of green to brown, and ending the etheree with coldness of winter is beyond artistic and excellent! Very out of the box! And this deserves a trophy win! Cus havent read an etheree as good as this ever! Soul warming! And made my heart full! I felt like ive seen all shades of seasons and life, and how it changes etc as i read this, from “ virgin summer roses blooming like rubies to rainbow dahlia, and how clouds grieve charcoal, snow kissed sepals! Woah, this quadruple etheree took me on a journey of seasons, woah! From spring to autumn, the way it transformed and brought a poignant touch of melancholy..Can also be taken as the symbolism for how times changed from jovial to gloomy..But, your imagery, oh my, it's absolutely spectacular and shining with poetic richness! There's so much depth to absorb and also the vividness & delicate flow of these lines make this one a really mesmeric read. Winter's arrival and everything becomes frozen-

Your wordplay is really enchanting and especially those floral references here.. "buttercups, daffodils, bluebells, blooming with rows of vibrant tulips." I really love that! SO, even in the simplicity of the Etheree, your poetic soul rises to the surface in "frozen cobwebs," "clouds grieve and bleed charcoal," (nice assonance), "virgin summer roses!" You have framed each season in fresh images that stand out like the best qualities of every season! I think this is a winner! Best wishes for the contest! So creative! You have caught all the seasons in a single frame encompassing their striking features from spring to winter! This is one of the best etherees I have read recently. Simply magnificent...!
