Eternal Hope
Imagine if you faced the grave
Would your countenance be brave?
What words would your soul bring to bare
If you were writing your last page?
Does your spirit not give quarrel
To the fact that you're a mortal?
We weren't meant to die this way
Eyes up; step through the portal
Believe the word of God
Fellow offender of the law
Our condemnation bled through Christ
And on the cross it's you He saw
He saw the things you did and do
And still decided to save you
Heaven is the gift of God
Not a reward for staying true
Boasting not that we have changed
Though our whole lives be rearranged
We are found new within our spirit
Awake with everything to gain
And as for death and condemnation...
It meets its end! It won't remain
Our perfect hope! Eternal hope!
When Christ comes back again!
