Shining down from astronomical skies I see eyes staring up toward my splendor Beckoning me to twinkle with amusement Laughing at their lack of any comprehension My mystery is relished by the moon’s beam Miraculous wisdom creating a sense of truth With enigmatic insight into the heart of poise Where my fiery light shapes embers of instinct Joy dances with the sparks of my intense blaze Never knowing defeat from the falling I recognize As the brilliance of a glow which understands me Colors my hopes with hues of wispy, gilded amber In the twinkling of an eye, my flickering spirit decides To reach inside, beyond the limits of my intellect, and soar You are a star poetry contest Sponsored by: Nina Parmenter June 28, 2020
