Escapade

You held me once, the last ripe mango on the tree We danced, the wind played love songs in moonlight I held you, the petal priming the waggling bee Something in kiss so sensuous flowered us with delight. Our footsteps pressed upon the naked skin of sand Wrote promises transistory as your fallen memory And the tree that's there, scarred by my weary hand Still have a heart and your sweet name on its history I go down to the sea sometimes to read and to wait To sigh while the willows cry, and dance alone there Loyalty is a painful virtue, only lovers can truly hate - The sea's bare bosom rise and fall slowly to my stare.

Thank you for sharing this memorable "Escapade" with us, Shango. You have such a romantic pen here; it's mesmerizing. I have read it three times, and each time I find it more passionate. The last line is truly amazing -- what a unique and poignant way to describe the waves! Love, Carolyn

Breathtaking and sad, this love and its loss. Wish it were possible to find her and relive this love your heart remembers and yearns for. Imagery in the last verse is overwhelmingly haunting and beautiful. Love, Shar

A melancholy sad memory of lost love, ...so beautifully written. Could be put to music, and can hear the sound of violins and the ocean....and the tears falling. Lovely, >>>>Love, Carrie
