~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am between breaths and the blink of an eye. I am the thought that quickly enters then suddenly dies. I am the stillness between melodies, only heard in brevities; a harmonious song that’s already gone. I am the wind that rustles through the trees carrying away memories like autumn leaves. I am the raindrop that tumbles from the sky drowning sorrows as it falls with a cry. I am the lightning that illuminates space a brilliant flash that fades with grace. I am the equinox of summer and the solstice of winter. I am here, then I am gone a fleeting presence of nature’s song.
What a beautiful poem on the ephemeral phenomena of nature. Sara, with each day your poems reach wider dimensions. Our thoughts, the lightning of the sky, the rain that falls from the sky, all have only fleeting existence. This beautifully constructed poem goes into my FAV.
