Elegy
The feathery whites descend
gently, pale sheet over memories
They cover her
resting figure, buried
deep, deep, her voice
Colorless feathers weave themselves
together. Before her heart ceased
beating, they encase in evergreen
her quiet, soothed breather
They erase her trace
per request, even when they
overheard, her silent prayer:
Before the funeral’s over...
let the bluebirds sprinkle
my name over the water
