stop me if you can contained, we are all safe - little thoughtless packages if I don't think it, you won't have to you know, the "how do I get out?" question some of us absorb our own shell exist covered only by the membrane less careful with ourselves still blind still unborn able to sense the bars and the in-between stop me if you can I'm half way out of the conundrum awaiting reabsorption into the womb of the never-was bird with the unspread wings that chewed the bars from both sides stop me if you can getting in and out amount to the same thing I'll sit off-centre a while longer consider whether thought is an exit strategy I've nearly known before and it never got me anywhere but I still wonder... who turned the wood placed the hook needed me suspended in the first place

Stop me if you can, but I would really like to congratulate you on your win for this brain teaser Ekphrasis. D You find he most interesting art subjects to work your magic on, but you have convinced me that Magritte installed a secret door at the rear of his construction to assist the egg in its escape. Wonderful poetry!

Haha Wen, the mystery of it getting in is easy to solve if we perhaps factor in welding or maybe an egg that expands in water lol. But hmm, getting out? Hopefully Magritte did install an emergency exit :) thank you for your kind words Wen, appreciated x

I like your story and how it emphasizes the painting. The painting has a lot of intricate technique.
