The "ego" is a brain, a neural chain
evolved to function as a private eye
whose magnifying glass detects but pain,
the only villain true to signify --
the sleuth a lifetime spying nagging clues,
deducing elementary truths sublime,
like gumshoes needing padded comfy shoes
or dicks yet pastimes fun between each crime --
each caper being done with expertise
in slipping out to off with pleasure flee
to leave in shock each Sherlock ill at ease
on Baker Street at 221B --
the Arsène Lupin dropping pain behind
(most notably in pinching coke refined).
