Edgar A Poe

Edgar A. Poe penned a poem long ago of this raven of lore that would shriek, “Nevermore”. And a madness within was awoken when that word from the Raven was spoken. “Nevermore”, did it say when Lenore passed away. “Evermore” would a sad heart be broken. Mr. Edgar A. Poe shared his bipolar muse with a bedlam tipped quill filled with paranoid views, and his neurotic dreams, quoth the romantic bard, rendered tantamount themes he would script in regard.

There is a lot about Poe that still goes unanswered. This is quite fitting since he is considered the father of the modern detective story. He died a mysterious death . My best, Robert

Mark, your poem flows effortlessly to the end. Your final two couplets are filled with superb word choice, "his bipolar muse with a bedlam tipped quill filled with paranoid views ..." Congratulations on your second-place win!

He's one of my favourite authors. I love dream within a dream. The Raven is beautiful and I've tried memorising the first stanza. Your poem is also a beautiful summarization of the whole piece. Well done!
