Ecstatic Praise
Self-inflicted wounds causing misery
Sins do shut my soul from joyous worship
Robbing me of God-granted victory.
Toward triumphant faithful stewardship
I pursue through Christ’s fortifying might
Vanquishing oppressive vain partnership.
While in the Saviour’s sweet communion light
My spirit enjoys lovingkindness
Loathing to miss His warm presence-delight.
Upon the Almighty’s truth-steadfastness
I stay in His wisdom’s excellency
Learning from Scriptures for service-gladness.
Ceaselessly cleaving on to God’s mercy
My heart thanks Him midst praises’* ecstasy.
*Psalm 56:12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
