Eclipse

I will not see the eclipse today. It will not pass this western way. I won't go out, no need for bonnet. Anyhow, I'd rather see a comet.

Hilda, it was interesting to see, but it was also an ordeal to get to the spot to see totality. I can see why it would not be important to many of us. During totality there were several solar prominences visible in different orientations. Something fantastic is going on with our own star.

I, too, am interested in it. To divulge the truth, I don't want to risk my fragile eyes by looking at the sun. Even if it's safe.

Thank you. It did sound a little like sour grapes but night sky seems more exciting.

Yes, a comet or a shooting star, by far. :-) What state out west do you live in? Just curious. Hugs, Bill

I watched it on TV. It didn't happen in my state. Thank you for your visit.

A large crowd assembled to witness the total solar eclipse, while others might consider asteroid impacts to be more captivating.

I think it was a fun festival for many. There has been little follow up, unless you're a scientist. Thanks for your comment.

Good one. I went out with the safety glasses, but I really could not see anything with them. However, I could feel and see this eerie feeling while in the house and I could tell exactly when it passed over or ended. Thanks for sharing your talent with us. Sara K

It was a big day for the sky. Everyone is going to have a sore neck tomorrow. Thank you for reading my poem.

Haha. Yes, what to choose? I love a good falling star, which usually means a warm night(soon I hope)

And shooting stars are supposed to be good luck. The warnings about burning the retina by looking at an eclipse cause me to stay inside. But will we get warm weather this year?

lol Hilda, i just saw it on sky news, was dull and wet here lol and we would only have had a partial eclipse. hugs Jan xx

Well, I guess scientists find interesting facts from the eclipse. I'm not comfortable looking at it, even with glasses. It was a rare event though.

Many people gathered for the eclipse, some find comets more exciting

True. I found Hale Bop very unusual . Each comet seems slightly different.

- There is more than enough eclipse in our world ... I want to see spring come with sun and joy, Hilda :) - hugs

You're correct. Darn moon. Thanks for stopping by.

I agree with you. A solar eclipse can blind you, but a comet will not.
