Easter Speaks 3
Easter shouts and whispers to a
vast world as well as to you and me.
Easter speaks life and love to me and
millions more in a myriad of ways.
Most recently I hear the sound of names.
I hear the names of three faithful women who
observed, prepared, and acted out their faith
while the apostles and some disciples hid in fear.
Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome.
The record shows that they sought him and heard Him more.
Notwithstanding the stone that stood in their way, they
pressed forward to realize that angels had preceded them.
Angels rolled away the stone that they might encounter an empty tomb.
Eye witnesses and messengers of the resurrection, those three women
speak to me about caring for Jesus' deceased body, about inquiry, and
about identifying the Master's call when He simply spoke out the name, "Mary".
