Ease
You think about
How he would touch you
With an ease
That felt unfair.
He’d take your hand,
Help you up,
Catch you by the hip,
And smile unintentionally.
You still remember
The day on the beach.
You backed up
Into a hole.
And he caught you
With ease,
An arm around your waist.
‘Don’t go falling for me,’
He said as he steadied you.
He doesn’t remember
But you thought of it a lot.
He was right,
You’re the easiest to woo.
Look how quickly you fell for him,
How he said he didn’t want
To lead you on,
Not knowing
There’d been something there
All along.
