EARLY MORNING RAIN
It was still early when the clouds gave way to rain, soaking the grass and trees and filling the road with splashes. The sound was soothing, much like Mother’s hum. The street was quickly transformed from a dull photograph to a glossy magazine page. I ran towards my car, each splash touching my skin and darkening my cardigan.
it smells beautiful
healing scent of falling rain
falling and falling
forming tiny droplets on
leaves, flowers, and windowpanes
