Driving With My Son
I love my child
I took him for a drive today
he was there in the passage seat
in thought but not in substance.
We will always miss
our children
or maybe if that be
only a temporary loss
with feelings
mixed with some relief.
Today I shared the scenery with
a missing link,
the link was also a chain
my child asleep in the car
as I chatter on
about his school days
as if they were yesterday
and maybe he listening
on the other side of the Atlantic,
perhaps also taking
a virtual drive with his dad.
