Dreams of a Shanty Dweller
His imagination scans
the horizon, if only to
escape this hatred he bears,
while searching for evidence
of scant regard.
His mind conceives blue skies
that blend into passive waters,
bro ken
only by the cosmetic harmony
of sun drench clouds.
Images of pastoral grandeur
he often mingles with
desirous thoughts of
being a man of substance,
when driving one’s
limousine on sincere roads,
constructed out of concrete
and macadam.
Executive in his high rise
penthouse office,
given to rule over
a thousand souls,
perception of vivid
proportions that lay
entwined in the brain
yet intellectually
enabled to grasp.
His mind willingly
absorbing all this finery,
that exists on the
other side of his
recurring theme,
yet no peace nor logic
can be conceived,
when with the dawn
he finds himself again
in the real world!
