Dreams Not
Soft sunlight streams down
dust floats and dances in the light
both falling down upon
teddy bears in a row
White and brown and even gold
some dressed in vests and some not
passing time does cover them
with settling dust falling down
hopes and dreams that once were
of things to be that never came
empty now lies the room
of the ones who never were
laughing joy of playing here
that settling dust would never be
on fuzzy friends that would never still be
in childhood games of endless glee
only silence echo’s now here
unbroken silence of broken dreams
dust grows thick on unknown friends
in quiet room that empty be
