Dreams For 2018
I hold a dream for two thousand eighteen,
it's to be better than I ever have before-
I do not need to be a beauty queen,
but someone so much more to adore.
I know I have great things yet in store.
To feel the breeze against my pale skin,
and be enlightened with each new verse read-
Embrace my beauty held deep within,
say things of importance instead.
Maybe think with my heart, not my head.
May I learn to put others first,
maybe think before I speak out-
Try not to always think of the worst,
to be filled with hope not doubt.
Oh, to listen instead of shout.
There are many things I wish for this year,
a list so long only I can know-
Maybe I will finally grow
to be a woman you long to be near...
filled with passion free of fear.
