Dr. Harold Shipman: Judge & Executioner: REVISED
The D.A. hoped
a tenth suffice
although they moped
much more be nice
but after all
who'll question his
a man of gall
and expertise.
Who walked about
so well at ease
that no one doubt
he's worth his fees
cause dead, don't shout
he does what he please.
They gave account
of just a few,
much higher count
Shipman, he knew.
He did his work
unquestionably
and moves around
effortlessly
he did what he did
unnoticeably.
Looking back at the facts
and hard evidence
in such a horrendous case
justice was indeed blind.
for he snuffed out
so many lives and
he can do it just
that onetime ...
Empty corridors are a
haven for mystery
privacy is absolute
the innocence of the
naive and uneducated
engaging and culpable
staff cry havoc as
writhing pain witnessed,
as a comforting official
whispers, "It will pass."
Red lights are blazing,
dead halls alive again,
questioning faces are
set at ease, appeased,
one yelp authoritatively,
"Apparently, her body
was too weak to
undergo such a
treatment, and alas,
she has departed, as
you all saw, she was
in pain, perhaps I
gave her peace."
A surgical room full
of unbloodied white
smocks, unwittingly
are mocked, and
the unseen smirk
hides behind a mask.
He speaks to the
agreeing now clearing
"Is there another, any
more in the hallways
my young man."
"None, doctor, we are
the body removers
and we will take her
and she will join the
others who also died
today, and as always,
we have our jobs cut
out for us, Dr. Hell, oh
I meant to say, Hal."
(chuckle) "Oh! You
guys". I'll go down
this quiet hall, so I
can drum up some
business for those
two cuckoos clueless
cadaver collectors
Shipman commits suicide,
He departs by his own
hands, but naught unto
after, naught until after.
The finger of blame
points about truly with
fingers joining in until
the full breadth of
hands miserably
their testament.
A community is torn
and in shock, the rush
of face-savers, they
lineup in unemployment
lines far away, but the
stain of their negligence
and compounded silence
is sadly a blemish that
will go forever unwashed.
His death was in January.
Healing for survivors
-- if you can call it that.
January Closeout Sale on
Stomping Shoes Now At
Wakefield Potters Field.
There must be accountability
-- no repeats or copycats
who paid the piper?
I take no pleasure
in writing this piece
'cept for its closing
hope all, save one,
PEACE!
