Doubt

Each line typed with care Two years of life spent examining rearranging, scrutinizing Every word measured for its merit Each comma removed replaced removed again Untill the image no longer appears on the key With each reading excitement soars Then doubt Fear of friends laughing at the foolishness Fear of another stack of rejections Fear of strangers saying you're not good enough not what we want Not what anyone wants Yet another tormented sleep Yet another manuscript lying dead in the trash can

I think all writers can relate to this at one time or another. It's not easy being rejected. Very moving, Jerry! Blessings, Kim M

Very true, Kim. I went the self-publishing route. After 4 books and selling about 100 copies to my family and friend, I found it's simpler to just give away poems on social media.

I'm pretty sure we all have at some time. I think anyone who says they have never been rejected hasn't been trying.

Thanks for reading. I think poetry is one of the hardest genres to break into.

I can relate. I wrote a children's book and would love to find a traditional publisher willing to take a chance

Never give up, there is someone out there that will find it perfect for their needs. Good luck my friend.
