Dont Turn Round

The tears a barrier to quell the sight as she turns to leave The scream inside cannot kill the sound of her steps as she walks away Her eyes the sea beyond the burning sand filled now with hate Dont turn round for i could never do this again As i turn from her before sole has touched the earth all the times we had and never will have crumbled to dust Never the man that she deserved Never the man she needed Never the man And forevermore unsure cradled by the darkness that surrounds me and warmed by the dead memories
