Tom went to the ugly bug ball Strange insects invaded the hall Folks dressed up as fleas, Cockroaches and bees The smile on his face said it all Tom hoped for a little romance Asked a cute centipede to dance She whacked him on the nose When he trod on her toes He went home in an ambulance! 7th April 2017

Even if the main character wasn't intended to depict Tommy, poems are always open to the reader's interpretation, and for me, the limerick is about Tommy. Is it just me, or can a lot of postings on the Soup be interpreted as including Tommy in the subject matter? I think he's attaining Soup infamy :D

See, that's what I like (and, sometimes dislike) about interpretation. Even if you change "Tom" to "Tim", I'll always read this as a Tommy poem ha ha!

I can always change it to Tim but many poems can be read and are open to interpretation . Hugs jan

lol! Right on, write on :D If this is a tribute—even a pseudo-tribute—to Tom, that's hilarious.

I have never and would not write a poem about Tommy . I had been to a funeral, turned on the tv and they had the ugly bug ball music on. Tom was the name I chose it is purely co--incidence. Hugs Jan xx

Just excellent. Easily publishable. I take all your poetry very seriously. A well written funny limerick is as impressive as a shakespearean sonnet as far as I'm concerned. A Fav. Lots Of Love armand.
