Donny
You took Clyde McPhatter’s song of yesteryear,
and recorded your own version for everyone to hear.
Success for your recording cannot be denied.
You sold over a million copies worldwide.
Cover versions of other oldies came later.
They made your popularity much greater.
Yes, you were a big asset to your family.
Fame and fortune came along so easily.
Your four older brothers were great as a team,
but you were successful as a solo, it would seem.
A new teen idol must come along each generation.
Your flashy performances proved to be a sensation.
Even though your voice changed a few years later,
your popularity continued to grow even greater.
