Thank you for your comment Darlene. I do feel sorry for the troops who actually have served our country. I think the fireworks often triggers PTSD in them too.

My dachshund gets visibly disturbed when it thunders; with me, however, it's the lightening. If Hemingway was stingy with words, Faulkner was just the opposite. He wrote the longest sentence in American literature in his short story "The Bear" – one page and a half long! Whereas Henry James wrote some of the densest prose ever! Thank for liking my clerihews. / M

Ha! I'm glad our dog does not let that stuff bother him. At my nephew's house the did the funniest thing. They brought up a youtube video of barking dogs, which set off all three little white dogs there at the house and they just barked and barked and barked at that screen with the barking dogs on it.

My dog would go crazy. When there are raccoons on the porch which is every evening her growling drowns out the TV. She takes off like a shot, and tries to bite them in their petootsies. I keep thinking one is going to turn and give her a bite.

my honey and the neighbors love to play with fireworks, especially now that they are legal...my 3 furbabies hate the sound... nice one! :)

Thank you Sandra. The cat hides in the attic of the garage which includes a tightrope walk across a narrow two by four beam.
