Do Not Call Me My Christian Name
Captain Pirate Dog loved the wind in his teeth.
He liked eating bugs, and being stranded on a relief.
He loved the thrill of looting and watching others watch the plank.
He told us stories about it, we know him as Uncle Hank.
Don’t ever call me my Christian name in person he said.
No problem there, we don’t know it whispered my cousin Ed.
Just call me Captain Pirate Dog, he told us. It’s how my men know me.
We called him Captain Pirate Dog Uncle Hank, in front of pirates three.
