Do I Love You

Did I ever love you, or was it a figment of my imagination, 'tween the light of dark persuasions thinking sentiments would blossom, yet fig trees froze whilst lemon trees & magnolias withered 'neath the rein of your infatuations when unkempt tables were turned, back midst a chilly November whence Spring never transpired "Was I ever someone Who could love you forever" Inspired by Leonard Cohen's Did I Ever Love You https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSuCWq0ruuk

Do I love your poem, indeed. I find there wonderful wings. I love the wonderful wings of dove. And I meditate on the difference between ”do I love” and simply ”I love” as Kierkegaard meditated on Christian love and personal love. Best regards.

A lovely poem wrapped in the grey paper of uncertainty, where flowers failed to fully bloom, fruit fell short of ripening, where expectations never reached their full potential. Was it truly love, one asks, or was love blind?! Well inspired by Cohen...I love his songs, and his voice. Regards // paul

great inspiration you got from Cohen. I think you crafted this very well, Paloma. You put a lot of thought into this one!

LC rocks but Paloma rocks better. I can see the influence in this but have to wonder, if he had had the opportunity to read you, would he have been influenced...I think so. Loved this one Paloma.

Beautiful Paloma! I was in love once, then got married, but after 13 years I discovered that I had fallen out of love, and we are now divorced for 13 years, never had a headache or cold or flu since. Haha, something in that. This poem shows a more personal side of you I believe. Keep it up.

Ha you're a character. Are you saying marriage made you sick Rick? I'm apparently allergic too. :) Thank you!
