Notes About The Poem

Poem written for and submitted to “A Quirky ‘OCD’ Poetry Contest,” Suzette Richards, sponsor, December 13, 2025.

Dishwasher Madness OCD

There once was a husband quite persnickety,
Whose dishwasher rules were so nitpicky~
  "Knives must point down!
Bowls go up—that’s their crown!"
So the forks ran away—how unsickety!

I do think my husband went to a special OCD school just before we married. PIcky man, but I love him :-)

I hear you...but from our point of view, we are the ones that generally have to see to their repair, when things get jammed and filters aren't cleaned. But we are often painfully nitpicky. Goes with the Neanderthal personal. Love it! Well done.

oh, wow, thanks, Joe, for your insights. My hubby went to a special OCD school before we married...picky and Neanderthanlish for sure but I love him. Merry Christmas, Sar a
