Notes About The Poem

I paint sometimes, and then I Pen, Its just a mood...

Dialects of the Deep

I muse alone ~
           ceaselessly
    savoring the aquatic sage
amidst swells of silence
seeping through sighs of seas
      a solitary sanctum

    the eyes of the ocean
can trace without touch,
     still embrace the
embedded emotions
    of an emerald ambience

    my heart ~ like glass-weed,
    pressed with poignant lies,
reflects plankton light
       in the obsidian abyss,
while suppressed thoughts fight
 in finned finesse,
     fragments of flawed flow
breaking the deep dark blues ~
a fierce force against the frozen
fathomless ~ fault-lines
of penned peace
that the surfers of life ~
        mindlessly misinterpret…

breathe me as I break free
              the inked instinct ~
stained with familiar fears,
           a coherent coalescence
    of surviving the storm
as I am an ineffable incognito
    circling ... gliding ... dreaming
bathed in
          streaks of salted serenity ~

  weaving wave-swept whispers
    through the languid language ~
lacking lucidity
        with letters of love-lines
  zealous zen
spelled from the
           cosmic scent
             of the siren-moon...

  for the wind beneath
 the calm knows
           my story etched
in the soul of liquid
           opalescent
tides of time ~
it's a living portrait of pulse
painted in
          watercolor washes
           of a
          passionate psyche...

It comes as no surprise to me, Ink, that you excel in any artistic medium you chose. Excel with aplomb. In my eyes you have this capacity for painting words intelligibly from the depth of your soul. This towering magnum opus is no exception. An enchanted, enlightened cascade of poetic flourish greets the reader with an indellible message. I will never forget this. Heartfelt thanks for your touching review of Skeleton. Warmth and light, Howard

Another side of your outstanding talent.....! Dear Empress, I now discern that you are a first rate painter too besides being a poet who creates magic with your verse and images. Few poets can paint emotions in the way you do. In addition to your wonderful alliterative poetry, you can create timeless art too through your remarkable sketches. Kudos!

There is lyrical depth in this emotional poem. Your oceanic imagery is top class. A "living portrait of pulse" and an "inked instinct," emphasising that poetry and art are inseparable.

You always amaze me with not just your vocabulary but with the seamless way you weave it in and out of such creative and alliterative phrasings. Beautiful work inspired by your own inked drawing! The color you used for it was perfect

At last, we get to see Ink Empress the artist! I've always loved this one of yours, and that's why I'm always urging you to paint more. Thanks for sharing another of your incredible talents with us. You show your wind beneath the calm, but I know it's calmness you seek. I think you've found it here again. ;-) As for me and sharks... I won't swim in their realm if they don't pursue me in mine.

Awwn dear Linnersz, i was shy posting this. But i appreciate you thinking that as your art is so beautiful! You are a natural. Sharks here in the maldives are very friendly and safe… haha. I do swim with them quite literally. They dnt bite unless triggered just like me ;) haha calmness is always there until some ignorant fish tickles my impatient fins… thank you so much for being supportive. And for reading this. Sending you light, today and always
