Destruction

It invaded your thoughts, permeated your soul. It consumed you. You were saturated in it, it engulfed every fiber in your body. It violently took control of you. Your life was trapped firmly in its unforgiving grasp. It gradually withered you away, until you finally disappeared. Your smile was the first to go, oh how I miss that radiant smile. It brightened the darkest of situations, and gave the pessimist hope. It was replaced by a grimace that could freeze even the warmest heart. With your smile went your happiness. I would do anything to hear your ridiculous laughter. It could clearly be heard from miles away, the way it reverberated off of anything it touched. It was magnetic, attracting many to you. Next, it took those large and tender hands. They were capable of comforting the saddest little girl. They transformed into hard, callous fists of anger. Even the innocent cannot escape their wrath. It took your heart and devoured the love that was inside. All that remains is half of a heart, bitter and unfamiliar with love. All it knows is hate. A monster was created, it morphed you into a terrifying stranger. Every day it drags you further and further from yourself, leading you slowly but surely to self destruction.
