Depression Engraved, My 'sweet Boy' Is Gone

Disillusioned is my soul from watching him die, in my arms he lay perished, eyes open- Disheartened soul, sorrow engraved. Spiritual torment resounds in hollowed grief- His ashes rest in a brown wooden box, his name etched in gold; my “sweet boy” is gone. My desolation comes from missing his soft fur. Will there ever be a moment when his death does not make me weep? Scar on my heart, beautiful pug. Fragmented Verse Poetry Contest Sponsor, Broken Wings June 26, 2018

Laura congratulations on your win in my contest. I know the pain of holding a dead pet in my arms, I held my old cat Smudges for hours. Your poem really touched my heart

Aww so sad. I lost a guinea pig a year ago and even then I was very attached. A great poem.

You write with the depth most of us cannot express. I've lost some furry companions. I did charcoals of them to remember.
