Dented Cans
I was quite desperate to make a pie
so drove to the grocery store to buy
a can of pumpkin I desperately needed
because my family are pumpkin pie addicts,
I get there and theres one can left
with a dent in it like its got a cleft
I think maybe its related to Kirk Douglas
whose 100 now and had played Spartacus,
So I buy it anyhow because its kind of cute
and after all I have nothing to lose
except for our lives but that would be slim
because how many folks actually die from botulism?
So I opened it up and it seemed alright
although while making it I felt a little uptight
because my family and I were never big fans
of eating something out of a dented can,
About an hour later I heard the oven timer declare its done
hoping that none of us would die or get the runs
I set it on the table and told them eating it is risky
but they just shrugged being pumpkin pie frisky,
That was a couple hours ago and so far so good
no trips to the bathroom or the emergency room
although that cute little dented can caused some anxiety
feeding my family was top priority!
