DemoCrazy, 2024

It's a day that will live on and haunt history,
When a once proud nation, took a leap back in time.
As millions placed their bet on a fat felon,
While a red wave washed away any crime.

Sadly, the majorities' voice was muted, as it
Whispered quietly all the way to the polls.
Where a fraudulent felon convicted a country,
To an incarceration term with heavy tolls.

What's been spoken of in the message is penal payback,
And its vengeful talons are in a Project 2025.
Now those of conscience easily warn of its folly,
As the puppet masters quickly turn to those alive.

This is a turning point in the ledger of liberty,
When the electorate turned its back on reality.
But if I dare to look forward and prognosticate...
We'll bear witness to social and cultural chastity.

Dear Timothy, your poetic pen is as pointed and piercing as a rapier. A potent dramatic monologue and a very clever title too. Congratulations for POTD honors. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Everywhere democracy is losing its original status. Most of the democratic countries are taking a backward leap. In the place of Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt et al, where is Trump's place! Let America wait and see what he is going to do. A great POTD. Congratulations, Timothy!

Quoting Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?" We live in the greatest Country in the world. We are all Americans first. There should not be any division. There is an establish process of voting, Americans have a choice, this time around they chose Mr Trump last time around they Chose Mr Biden that is what America stands for, your right to choose your candidate. Chastising those that disagree with you does not accomplish anything but division. Calling him fat insults many people who are

Timothy I respect how you feel, and I clearly understand you have a passion for your candidate, and that is your right to have, and I respect that. I do not agree with Trump calling anyone fat. Two wrongs do not make it right. I could bring up things said on the other side but this is not about throwing stones its about respect for someones choice and not causing division between Americans choice of candidate. How would you like anyone berating your choice of candidate, How would you feel? I appreciate your response and I appreciate you clarifying "fat"I hope you weren't offended that was not my intent. Thank you for your response.

I'd like to add one more comment ...I find it interesting that the one word, fat, was offensive, not felon, or fraudulent or vengeful...

Thank you Michael for your comments, although I believe that the division has been going on since 2016. Also, my choice in using ' fat ', was about the least offensive term I could think of compared to Trump's language. I suppose it was ok for Trump to constantly ridicule Chris Christy with it though.

I’m afraid that’s what happens when a country’s population is fractured and divided Timothy, Democracy is not perfect never was, and will always be tested to breaking point, congratulations on a extremely well penned POTD, cheers David
