Delight Is the Night

The moon is a curving flower of gold. Blue silk is the river below which gathers sweet Luna’s petal-face glow And mirrors it in a soft fold. Delight is the night as we - passion-souled - sail forth on the ribbon’s smooth flow! 2015 poem For Julia Ward's Sailing Contest

well, Joseph, that is a testament to the fact that Sara Teasdale was a fantastic poet. The first line was hers.

Lovely, Andrea....someone read this and was so mesmerized that they posted it to me! You romantic soul you....I love to see this side of you. About your post on my sonnet.....Craig helped me with sonnet writing. Gave me some tips....It's become my favorite form...Iambic pentameter is just the rhythm of my heart! Thanks for the build...built. Silly tenses! Yes, you watch out for me, and I will watch out for you. I edit well for others but not so keen on editing my own. :) Hugs

As for these babies (.......) Yes, those silly little ellipsis....I love using them. It's my signature thing. I don't allow my students to do it. That's what punctuation is for, but here I like to be unfettered!!! ;) Hugs

You have done it again, painting in my head. You say you don't have an artistic talent but you paint such wonderful pictures with words. Love this one dear sis.

I stopped by to confirm which line I guessed you would choose, Andrea, and I proved myself right:) Sara Teasdale was an obvious choice! And I am sure she would have approved of your added lines...beautiful! // paul

There is indeed a certain feel of Teasdale in this write, Andie. Glad you did it this way, because I failed to consider the author's style. Goodluck with this! hugs
