Deeper Into Addiction: Consequence

Drink ever deeper From my stinging liquid lifeblood Vision tunneled Balance shattered I awoke in a place I never knew existed Sky black, stars bright Body numb No control Everything I left behind My life, my dreams In a glass Tossed back Laws mean nothing When I'm too gone to see I am man I'm alive My future means nothing When I can so clearly see It isn't there It never was I gave up my life To sustain my happiness I gave up on life When the road took a turn Little is left Of the man that I used to be Innocent hopes All fade away Nothing can grow In poison-soaked soil Nothing can grow When the farmer won't toil
