Dedication to My Daughter

     
            Dedicated to Elena Eagle
                   My Daughter 
   On the Closing of Oakland A’s Stadium
                    9/26/2024

                            ~ ~ ~             

     Your Grandpa is right there next to you,
     Cheering on the A’s, with a beer or two!
     Down from the skies of Heaven, he flew.
     To be with his Grandaughter, feeling so blue!

     He sees all the wonderful things you do,
     For your family, you are magnificently true.
     Proud of his smart grandson, six foot two,
     And your husband, who’s been true to you.

     He knows so well you will cry this Fall day,
     When the A’s stadium, closes, their last play.
     He wants you to not feel any deep dismay,
     For the Oakland A’s will play yet another day.

    Grandfather loves so you very, very much.
    He came to earth for you to feel his touch!
    Grandfather loves the great England bunch.
    Eddie, he says will be in the MLB, Grandpa’s hunch!

He was very good looking and healthy and he got a lung disease and it be the same and I never saw him again.. tragedy of my life and I think I was only six. Elena got to be with her grandfather for a long time, but he missed her wedding., her husband abd Eddie. When she got married, I carried a large picture of them in my purse as if they were really there. I think that in spirit they were.. thank you for your sweetness, Pangie

She flew to Chicago on her own, when she was small, lto spend the whole summer with my parents. He had her take lessons in sports too..Eddie is named after him. He bever met him. Elena has been going there to the Oakland Stadium since she was 16 years old. Her son is now 18 so the years have really flown by.. one year they had the Scoreboard lit up “Happy Birtday, Edward”. I thought that was so boss! I think Eddie, did too. My Dad is the one who got her interested in baseball in the first place. She used to go to Cubs Park in Chicago.. and her son’s been playing baseball since he was four. It’s just unbelievable the number of games he played and how good he is.. so here’s hoping he makes it to the MLB. Well, my Dad said so ,lljI know it’ll come true. )) thank you…. don’t tell…but I cried writing that poem.. Hugs, Pangie
