You said once my poetry left you breathless
Dear poet, your gentle heart filled with kindness
left me breathless...
Beyond fair reason, we shall think of you
on sunset beaches where beauty's unsealed
to see our time so fleeting fade to blue
with our distant thoughts, we quietly yield
our memory will tremble ever soft
with warm visions of a poet, we'll miss
whisked to poetic realms and stars aloft
the tender afterglow we reminisce
the shadows held in our souls so still
a poet's poem fades in silhouette
our hearts will not forget your poet's skill
as your kind replies can trace when we met
your heart was exposed by the written word
you will be remembered, your poems heard
