December Rain
December rain will freeze as the night falls, The northern winds will turn the rain to sleet. Why do I watch the December rain, splash and drum on the window pane, soon I will hear it chatter as it splatters ice pellets and freezes all it pleases. The warmth of a cozy blanket is toasty within. A mug of hot chocolate makes you snug. The deepness of December piles high the frosty snow. Shake my world as if in a globe. My dreams flicker with the candle flame. Contended to stay warm inside, my furnace churns as the cold wind begins to freeze the December rain. A spill of warmth made the snow rain but it could not last. Decembers days are shy and short, her evenings are long and cold. Outside the earth is covered with a sheet of icy glass, heavy the weight of ice on the telephone lines. My generator will kick in if all outside tumbles with the winter wind. Frost forms over the glass of my window pane, heavy my eyes begin to close. The briefness of December rain I wished you would of remain December snow.
