Death of a Leaf a Sad Tale To Tell
Once Green In The Spring Then Hot Summer Nights Now Falling
As trees sway in the wind sending their leaves gently to the ground
It becomes a colorful array of yellow and browns floating against the sky
Twirling like a kaleidoscope through the sun wondering where they will land
Hitting the ground one on top of another piling them all around
The rake swiftly moving creating mounds and mounds of colored leaves
In a seen set for Halloween they become a natural artist arrangement
Children running through them and jumping on them as if it were a game
Spreading these mounds all over the ground to be raked again
Cracking sounds with children laughing parents thinking,
They must be racked up again as the wind picks them up floating afar
With pumpkins being carved and candles placed inside lighting up this seen
Darkness falls children in costumes making a crunching crackling sounds
Through the leaves yelling and screaming trick or treating
These leafs know the end is near and soon they will burn becoming
Ashes and the smoke rising by the trees that once held them
This sad story of a leafs life will be told ever year over and over
Until the death of that tree that once held those beautiful yellow and gold brown leaves
This is
THE END
Of Just One Leafs Life
