You seemed larger than life
Like the sun, moon and stars
Not God, but with features
That spoke of great joy, faith
Hope that speaks to the heart
And love that brings the spirit
Into the knowledge of vastness
Surrounding us all with Divinity
Now that you’ve gone, leaving
Only the memories for me to hold
And keep beside me, warming me
Inviting me to recall the feelings
The tenderness and intimacy of
How it felt to be together, with
Sincere feelings of private empathy
Surviving all the worst apathy
Your figure still forms a silhouette
Of song that sings to my depths
Dancing with the winds and breathing
Sweet serenity into my soul’s silence
Welcoming my heartbeat and caring
When I yearn for your touch to embrace
Me with soft kindness, hues of affection
Coloring me crimson, passion whispering
Never have I burned so fiercely for
Another’s hand reaching out to me
Keeping me in the grasp of gentleness
Which bids me to share pieces of myself
Thoroughly enfolding our devotedness
Into feelings that linger on the air
Like music that has created thoughts
Of purity and peace, touching the senses
Sighs of devotion and delightful visions
Vibrate through me with tingles of insight
Into the inspiration that comes from knowing
Pleasure so rich and vibrant that it shines
Like a light from heaven, the sun or moon
Crooning to the angels who echo the rhythm
Of heartbeats along the cloudless, azure skies
The backdrop for this compassion that beguiles
I long for you now the way the sun aches
For the dawn, leaving the moon behind
As I leave the past worries to define
What I will never think of or remember
Because I can only believe the plush, vibrant
Reverberations of wordless dreams who
Call out to me with impressions of tomorrow
When I will think of you again, always with me
Today, your reflection mirrors the moments
Of forgiveness and smooth breaths of hypnotic
Flashes of reminiscence which boasts of genuine
Sincerity, freely given to the one who believes
And sees the wisdom in giving with everything
Inside, with enthusiasm and sparks of fervor
That enlighten the soul and capture the mind
With the knowledge that true love never dies
