Death and Life
Death and Life
When shall we understand
That it is not death
We struggle against
But this thing we call life
Life
Life which does not comprehend
The magnitude of its being
Made small by the conception
Of living, breathing, heart beating, blood flowing
Ends
In death
Death
Is
The eternal life
Life
Bound by our human concept
Our tiny mind of propensity
To worldly goods
And Earth ridden need
Does not feel the stars universal
Or creation beheld
But existent undeniable it is
There
Floating eternity above our heads
Life
Denies the stars
Turns its eye to ridicule amongst the suns
And exchanges them for small planetary money
Swaps it for political ideals
And economies
And religious deals and books
Of explanatory
And all with these to give to their excuse
Of their complication
Of death
Explain
How
Have you lived
?
If defined by love
If defined by hatred
Conceive nothing more
Than
Just is
Death
And
Life
That which
We struggle against
Is nothing
But life
To which we cling
So desperate
While the eternal
Breathes
There
Above
Our
Heads
( it is our own fear that stops us from reaching
and touching
the stars )
