Death

Hard spikes of cold rain nailed the night to the city. Thunder rolled across the dark sky, I hardly noticed the ominous peals. The pounding of my own heart was the loudest noise in the night, I stopped at a quiet cul-de-sac along the boulevard, the rain sprayed cold droplet but all in futility
