It fills the vial, life, quite thick as blood And presses like a levee 'neath a flood The hammer, down ... It trembles in the dark, a wage of want A seraphim without the wings to flaunt The crooked clown ... It screams the horrid silence as a beast To seed the dim damnation for its feast The frightened frown.
