Dear Boss, I need to stay away from work a week or two. It seems I caught some flu while I was on "stay cay". I DID enjoy the bay for one whole day. Who knew? I hope you need no note - I haven't seen a doc. I KNOW I'm sick: I talk like frogs live in my throat. I cough. I sneeze. I bloat. Should you think this a crock, and pressure me to come; too bad - I'm staying home! // Written on 3/12/2020. The form is // // a HexSonnetta (created by Andrea Dietrich) // // Hope all you Soupers out there are taking good care // // of yourselves and each other; self-isolating and practicing // // social distancing. We'll get through this together (virtually)! // // P.S. I had an ordinary flu, not COVID-19, thank God! Peace ~ John //

Every day there's more news about things getting canceled. I envision the day we break Netflix because everybody will be at home! Thanks for the visit, Paul.

Thank you for the well wishes, Rercy. I'm back at work now... the catchphrases of the day are "abundance of caution" and "social distancing"!

Thank you for always staying so current on my latest kerplops. Perhaps I should have mentioned above that you invented this poetry form!

LOL! Actually, the hex refers to 6: six syllables per line and six lines per section, followed by a couplet as in a sonnet, hence the name. Thanks for the visit, Gershon!

John, some great humor on a serious matter is good. In my city many are very afraid, I think that I am too, but my sister is on a Caribbean cruise, she says "you cannot stop living your life" one of my friends who teaches dance has a cough and asked her boss for time off and was told find your own replacements _ Constance

Constance, I'm glad you're able to see the humor as a positive coping mechanism. Don't mean to appear unsympathetic towards those who are truly suffering. I do believe laughter is the best medicine! Thanks for the visit, my friend.

Thanks, and you're welcome! It was fun giving it a shot. Kind of a hybrid between a sonnet and a lay.
