Dead Air
breathing in and out, fifty-fifty.
my eyes mind the dust particles
that snow in the blizzard air.
fortified catatonic blankets -
the detachment of my universe.
the horde of cats ski-
pped out eons ago.
the television screen crac-
ked and erroneous.
the teapot’s truant whistle.
mug on padded coasters.
no flippant pages, books bo-
xed up, sealed with rainwater.
soulless shoes left behind
on an unvacuumed rug.
I long for a raven to rap on the door.
