Hello Duke, I do not like to change the clock forward or back. Yet is has to be done. I wish to keep the time the same all year round instead. Enjoy your day my friend. /Darlene/

I agree Duke. A silly release in a silly poem gives me confidence and courage to address issues in more serious works. :)

Linda, you are very kind and I am blushing from the complement. They give me a chance to express a bit of irreverence. By doing that poetically, it gives me more of a license to address things we may find difficult.

Hello Duke, Your limerick beautifully encapsulates the intricate dance between time and our struggles to keep pace with it. Kudos! Your clever use of a pun involving the phrase "time is on my side," along with mentioning Mick Jagger, a rock music icon known for his song "Time is on My Side," brings a delightful and whimsical touch, creating a sense of ironic juxtaposition.

SP, you are very kind! I’ve run into a lot of people today who are feeling tired. It’s a problem. We hope the doctor operating on us this morning is awake, but who knows?

Mick Jagger can certainly swagger, must be down to tight pants I gather. Time on his side, I laughed till I cried. That has to be a subject matter… Beryl

Beryl, it’s clear to me you have a lot of great abilities. I do enjoy this short form since I like brevity, directness, and humor. I have a lot of admiration for people writing more. We’re all a bit different—keeps this interesting.

Loved this limerick dear Duke. It’s so good and made me smile :) The picture is great too. Our clocks are going forward shortly and when I’m working that next day, I’m thinking about having less sleep and thus, end up not sleeping well anyway! Getting up at 5.10 am and normally awake on edge around 4.50 to get up and then losing a hour to start with - yuck! Really enjoyed this relatable limerick. :):)

Christina. yes it’s a tough day. I used to get up at 5 am for work which started at 6. Now I’m generally up around 7. You’re rising very early. Is it a work thing?

Oh yes we will lose sleep very soon but I really love long days of sun. Great lim.

Andrea, yes it is a tradeoff. My wife and I went to a doctor's office this morning and the staff indicated they were suffering from the time change. We could leave it as it is now and have more light in the evenings. It just strikes me as crazy to go through this twice a year.

Thanks for all the lovely recent comments . Now I will read some of your limericks

Andrea, I was reading your most recent poems. They are very thought provoking. Thanks for what you do here. You are unique in style and your work portrays an honest look at life.

Hey Duke your limerick humorously captures the idea of time and the inevitability of adjusting to its demands, contrasting Mick Jagger's swagger with the common experience of struggling to get out of bed in the morning... It cleverly combines humour with a relatable theme, offering a light hearted commentary on the passage of time and the challenges it presents in our daily lives...

SO, you got it exactly. I love it when the comments contain more content than the poem itself! Makes me laugh. We're trying to be thought provoking....which you always are. A real pleasure read your work too!

Dear duke, it must be hard changing time and adjusting to the changes, here in this side of the world we don’t have that issue but i have few friends that i talk to daily, and having their clocks change does affect. I love how you wrote “ mick jagger and swagger. How clever! Very creative write. Your limerick is brilliant and I enjoyed reading this

IE, you're very kind and very lucky you don't have to deal with this craziness. It's hard enough to have an old clock that stays accurate for a month.

I love the guy... In the world of music, they've grown, A legend, a band, all their own. With moves so unique, Mick Jagger's mystique, On the Rolling Stone, they have shone!

Vijay, as I am responding here, I am looking at the clock and wondering if I can make it without stress to an appointment this evening. It is exactly as you say and have pointed out in some of your poems I have read. No escape from its progression are we.

Another very good very good limerick. Some states don't change the time for daylight savings Utah abuts on Arizona and going back and forth in summrr is confusing.

Hilda, You are so right! I've been there and it is sometimes a pain to deal with this. The reservations also may use different time from the surrounding state. It's an issue when dealing with openings and closings.

Dear Duke, You quite effectively capture the irony of time’s sway, juxtaposing Mick Jagger’s swagger with the daily chore of adjusting clocks. Your poem eloquently portrays the universal struggle of morning routines and the relentless march of time. With wit and insight, you illuminate the mundane yet profound aspects of our lives. I love your poetic perspective on daylight’s dilemma. - Blessings, Daniel

Daniel, you really express appreciation for our work with kindness and dedication. Ugh-it's tonight we have to make the adjustment. I've noticed that with the advent of internet capable cars and appliances, that the number of clocks to change has leveled off and started to decline. It's just our poor bodies that have no stem to pull and adjust to the change.

Kim, enjoy the family and friends. It always is a bit rough and it gets worse as we age....wait, we thought we don't sleep as we age!

The change, back and forth has always been a bone of contention to me, still is and probably always will be. Justly written, Duke.
