Darkness Came Too Soon

In the beginning, you said all was right. No one knew death was knocking at your door. Each update bounced between the dark and the light. No sign that you were sick, let alone stage four. I awoke to find that darkness had won. Taking your last breath as I stood above. All the pain and fighting was now done. All that was left was your eternal love. Given six weeks but gone in just four days. Didn't want to burden anyone here. Leaving us with words we still want to say. The daily thoughts always bring on a tear. Still feel like you are a phone call away. Hoping you will walk through that door one day.
