Darkest Hours
I've travelled down life's deepest, darkest holes
Been through things where you can't be consoled
Shed enough tears for a thousand lifetimes
Spat enough anger which left me blind
Vehemence and blame for everything else
Made me feel I thought better in myself
But I was deluded and I could not see
I had to take responsibility for me
I had to walk the existential path
Had to find the spiritual light in the dark
I had to find my way back to me
And accept accountability
For a life so harsh that knocked me down on my knees
But rather now than having my head in my hands
I gaze up and pay homage to creation
And live in love.
