Dark Hunger

Thick smoke and fire engulf the air,
The wounded writhe and scream in pain.
Grim tyrant sends his monsters forth;
No mercy shown. They plead in vain.

Perfect! Love this. Ha! I wrote one called "The Hunger" about Fire this past July. Not about these beautiful creatures in the fire but about all creatures consumed in our wildfires. Here there seems two tyrants! I love how you captured the genocide of the creature.
