Dangerfields

Among poetry’s favored elect, there are forms that they tend to reject. With Dangerfield status, There’s nothing that’s gratis; A Nantucket gets no respect! It just needs some polish and class; Bit more nuance, a little less crass. We might go back to school, But I’m nobody’s fool; We’ll never be head of the class.

Great limerick! Jeff. You are good at this form, without dragging toilets in. I have yet to pen a limerick.doubtful I can write one. I am no poet laureate here, nor pretend to know all forms. Still learning.haha on the Nantucket reference, Pangiexx Pangie xo

Pangie, not sure why you continue with the negative comments? I for one enjoy all the funny limericks, they are a gas!

I'm behind you 100% on your thought, Milt. It was totally unnecessary, but I believe it may have been the impetus to begin a toilet humor limerick collaboration! Jeff, this will be fun for you to join in... coming soon!

It is a form used for crude jokes, for sure. I’m guilty of a few of those, but I’ve enjoyed using them to tell stories for my grandkids as well. Thanks, Pangie, keep trying them!

You could have done without the snide reference to Jan, Pangie. I'm still waiting for you to unblock me!

Interesting take on forms, Jeff. I'm not familiar with the "Nantucket." Love the allusion to Dangerfield. You have a knack for really good flow in your limericks. Thanks for sharing this.

It's just the opening line to many a bawdy limerick, "There once was a man from Nantucket...". See, they get no respect, lol. Just kidding, of course!
