our joy creates spaces in the earth looking closely shows all those cut out hollows made by something else the moon sears away the leaves tresses tossed in the wind scratch wave & sky but our light shines on we hold hands there is heart let bad be contained in the shadows as we tap our absence of dark into the sand watch it seep permeate layer after layer beyond ourselves form a path to the moon shadow can't grab me by the hand or catch my eye not tonight though I mustn't trip I fear the forever fall scared by the logic of shadow creation is one touch enough? inhaled dust might cause my decay I hate that darkness lurks but I love that I'm light sometimes

I hate that darkness lurks but I love that I'm light sometimes…the painting shows dark figures as well as thoughs full of joy. We are one or the other or are we the trees?
